A natural spectacle graced the skies over Ireland as a
partial lunar eclipse of a supermoon, named a harvest moon, was visible across the
northern hemisphere, footage captured on the early hours of Wednesday, September 18, showed.According to
NASA, the harvest moon began entering Earth’s partial shadow at 8:41 pm EDT (1:30 am UTC). The eclipse was subtle until the Moon’s top edge entered the full shadow at 10:13 pm EDT (3:15 am UTC), peaking at 10:44 pm EDT (3:45 am UTC) “when 8 percent of the Moon” was covered. The timelapse footage here, captured by Eoin O’Hagan with a Nikon camera and a 2000mm lens from his home in Scariff, in the west of Ireland, shows the phenomenon.
