Millions of people bathed in the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and Sarasvati rivers on January 13, as India’s biggest Hindu festival began.Footage released by the Office of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh shows the first day of the Mahakumbh Mela celebrations, with huge numbers of people seen around Triveni Sangam, the sacred river confluence.The festival will last 45 days, according to the Hindustan Times; some 400 million people are expected to attend during that time.
