Olympic runner Rebecca Cheptegei was buried in her home village in Uganda on September 14, local media reported, after she died following an attack by an ex-boyfriend.Cheptegei was killed when her ex-boyfriend Dickson Ndiema Marangach allegedly attacked her near her home in Kenya, setting her on fire.Cheptegei died on September 5, four days after the attack, with doctors saying she had suffered burns to more than 80% of her body, according to the BBC.Marangach later died of respiratory complications caused by burns, local media reported.According to her father, Cheptegei had filed complaints against her alleged attacker at least three times, most recently two days before the deadly attack.Images from her funeral were published by Kenyan politician Stephen Sang.
