A weather balloon carrying 66 to 88 pounds of scientific equipment fell from the sky and landed in Jalsangi village in Karnataka, India on January 18. The balloon was launched from Hyderabad's Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, and is designed to collect information about atmospheric conditions.
