A vehicle fire prompted the temporary closure of northbound lanes on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana early Saturday, November 16.The closure was announced just before Saturday afternoon by the Causeway Commission, which cited a “serious incident” on the 23-mile-long bridge. Shortly after, the commission said the road was cleared and the bridge had reopened.Footage filmed by Bryan Umphenour shows dark smoke rising from a section of the bridge and fire truck arriving at the scene.Other footage posted by motorists in the area showed a vehicle on fire.Authorities had released no information about injuries or the cause of the fire by the time of publication.
