A friendly cat was rescued from a pile of rubble in a neighborhood in Tampa on Friday, October 11, during recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.Photographs released by Bally Sports reporter Ryan Bass shows a tortoiseshell cat emerging from a pile of rubble in Palmetto Beach, Florida, on Friday. Bass said that the cat was purring non-stop.Bass initially nicknamed the cat “Milton” after the hurricane before finding out the cat was a female. He said that a local family who owns a business that was decimated by the storm is currently caring for Milton.“She’s super sweet. They’re keeping her safe!” said Bass in an update on X.Hurricane Milton left parts of southern and central Florida with widespread flooding and damage after making landfall in Siesta Key on Wednesday.
