Israel Continues to Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Gaza After Warning From US

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that 30 trucks of humanitarian aid was delivered to Gaza on Friday, October 18, after the US warned the country that they would curb missile supplies to Israel if they didn’t let more aid into Gaza.Footage released by the IDF shows trucks carrying pallets of food, water, medical supplies, and shelter equipment to Gaza through the Erez West Crossing on Friday. The IDF said that the aid came from the Port of Ashdod in Israel and was transferred after thorough security inspections.The IDF said that they will “continue to operate in accordance with international law to facilitate humanitarian aid into Gaza,” through the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). COGAT said that 50 trucks of humanitarian aid was also transferred to Gaza on Wednesday.Defense secretary Lloyd Austin and secretary of state Antony Blinken sent a letter addressed to Israeli minister of defense Yoav Gallant and minister of strategic affairs Ron Dermer on Sunday, saying that Israel had 30 days to allow more aid into Gaza before the US would consider cutting off weapons, according to the New York Times.
