Winter storm warnings were in effect for parts of northern New Mexico as a “powerful” early season snowstorm hit the region on Thursday, November 7, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.The storm was expected to drop up to an additional 16 inches of snow in higher elevations through Friday morning, the NWS warned.The weather service reported wind gusts of 35 mph causing “blowing and drifting snow and poor visibility” as of 4:22 am on Thursday.Footage taken by @ThomasWayneRil1 shows snow accumulating in the village of Tijeras, east of Albuquerque, on Thursday morning.“Travel could be very difficult to impossible,” the NWS said in its winter storm warning.
