Tropical Cyclone Jasper started to weaken as it churned over the Coral Sea east of Queensland overnight into December 9, but remained a Category 4 storm, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology
said.The bureau said the storm was expected to move west by Sunday and was likely to make landfall on the northern coast of Queensland — between Cape Melville and Townsville — by Wednesday, December 13, and had the “potential to re-intensify.”The bureau said gusts near the center were estimated to be 270 km/h (168 mph).
