Newly released footage from UK police shows the moment an officer was attacked by an XL bully – a cross between an American pit bull terrier and American Staffordshire terrier – after cops were admitted into a home to question a suspect. The owner of the dog, Aden Hollyoake, was sentenced on Friday, January 31, to two years and three months in prison on charges of possessing a dangerous dog, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and possession of a controlled drug.In bodycam footage released by the Leicestershire Police, the officer can be heard screaming in pain during the October 2023 attack. The incident, which happened as police visited an address in Ibstock “wanting to speak” to Hollyoake, left the officer unable to work for a month, according to a
press release from police. The dog let go after almost a minute of biting, and the officer was taken to a hospital “where he had an operation to repair and stitch four bite wounds to his leg,” according to the press release. The XL bully, together with a pit bull terrier that was in the house, were removed from the property and currently remain in secure kennels.
