Federal agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and several other agencies carried out a multi-location immigration enforcement operation in the Denver metro area on Wednesday morning.Local reports indicated that operations were underway across both Denver and Aurora.NBC News reported that raids were expected in Aurora on Thursday, January 30, but media leaks compromised operational security for the officers involved.ICE confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the US Marshals Service were on-site to address the “public safety threat.”Footage released by the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Rocky Mountain Division shows an agent deploying a gas-distributing device outside an apartment building in the early hours of Wednesday. The agency’s caption noted that they were executing a search warrant.ICE reported that over 100 members of a Venezuelan gang were arrested as part of their ongoing operations in Aurora, Colorado.
