Police officers in Trenton, Michigan, braved icy canal water to rescue a trapped dog on February 10.Corporal Bond and Officer Bedsun responded to a 911 call reporting that a dog had fallen “through the ice in the canal at Elizabth Park,” police said.“Officer Bedsun entered the icy water, breaking through sections of ice, while Corporal Bond coordinated efforts from the shallow water,” they said.Police released this footage of the “tense and physically demanding operation.”Police reminded residents to be “cautious around frozen bodies of water, especially during fluctuating winter temperatures.” Credit: Trenton Police via Storyful
