A husband-and-wife team have been sentenced after a spate of thefts across the UK, according to
Norfolk Police.Vadar-ghimes Agafitei and Zinca Agafitei, both aged 46 and from London, were sentenced to two years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of theft and two counts of burglary at an earlier hearing.Between May 14 and July 29, 2024, the couple stole gold jewelry collectively valued at over £48,000 (more than $60,000) from various locations in Warwickshire, Sussex, Wiltshire, Suffolk, and Norfolk.This CCTV footage from July 29 shows the woman talking to a member of staff at a shop in Thetford, as the man reached over a window display and stole £15,000 ($18,865) worth of gold chains.An investigation by Norfolk Police’s Breckland District Crime Unit uncovered several other thefts by the pair, mostly from jewelry shops.Officers identified the suspects and intercepted their vehicle on October 17, where they were arrested and transported to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
