An image from Google Street View showing a man loading a large white plastic bag into the trunk of his car has led to the arrest of two people on suspicion of murder, according to Spanish media. On December 18, Spanish police said the dismembered body of a man was found in an Andalusian cemetery.Police said they had arrested a Cuban woman, the former partner of the deceased, who is also the former wife of the other person detained, a local man from the nearby village of Tajueco. Police had yet to determine a motive. One Google Maps image shows the detained man wearing jeans, a blue jacket of a local football team, and brown boots, hunched over his car trunk reaching over a long white package.A second image from further down the road shows a blurred silhouette of someone dressed in dark blue carrying what appears to be a white bundle in a wheelbarrow. The images, described as a “decisive clue” by police, were taken in October 2023, when the alleged crime is said to have taken place. Google Street View imagery hadn’t been taken in the remote area for 15 years before the suspect was snapped.Spanish police have presented the images as evidence alongside some mobile messages for arresting the pair for killing and dismembering the man and moving the body in the car photographed by Google, according to El Pais.
