Nine police officers rescued people from a hostel on fire in London’s Euston neighborhood in the early hours of Saturday, February 8, receiving praise for their bravery from their force.The Metropolitan Police said that the fire started in a five-story hostel where 20 people, many of them tourists, were “trapped inside.”Officers arrived before firefighters, and quickly located people “trapped and disoriented inside smoke-filled rooms” and led them to safety, police said.Bodycam footage from the incident shows officers hurrying people out of rooms and knocking on doors to check everyone had gone outside as the fire alarm rings in the background.The officers were praised by Commander Peter Stevens, who said their actions “exemplify the very best of the Met.” Credit: Metropolitan Police via Storyful
