An idyllic beach on the Philippine resort island of Boracay was seen almost completely deserted last week after its picturesque white sands and crystal-clear waters were covered by dark green algae. The normally bustling beach scared away tourists with the lack of a clean place to swim. The algae bloom is a seasonal occurrence on the island.
