Snowplow drivers were working to clear heavy snow from runways at Big Bear Airport in California’s San Bernardino Mountains on Tuesday morning, January 7, as authorities warned of incoming high winds.Transport officials said chain restrictions were in effect and reported “whiteout conditions” on Highway 18 west of Big Bear Lake, a section of road known locally. as the “Arctic Circle”.Due to the Santa Ana winds, a high-wind warning was issued for the San Bernardino Mountains and the Inland Empire.
