Winter storm warnings were in effect for parts of northeastern North Dakota as heavy, blowing snow hit the region on Thursday, December 19.The National Weather Service (NWS)
warned areas could receive up to 5 inches of snow, with localized amounts up to 8 inches possible, and winds gusting as high as 40 mph.Whiteout conditions were expected and would “make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening,” the NWS
