隨著文班亞瑪(Victor Wembanyama)正式登場夏季聯盟賽事，讓這股「斑馬熱潮」再掀高峰，不過龐大的媒體聲量，似乎已經讓這個19歲的年輕球員有點喘不過氣。
日前受訪時，文班亞瑪說道：「過去一個月來，我行程中一半以上都無關籃球，這讓我無法忍受，我知道這會是我人生中非常特別的一段時光，但很慶幸一切終於結束了，我只想打球。」

外媒記者魯索(Justin Russo)日前也轉述文班亞瑪的談話，文班亞瑪表示休季期間接下來幾個月，希望能從媒體上消失，讓自己能在新賽季開打前好好享受和籃球無關的假期，而根據ESPN記者表示，馬刺已經準備關機文班亞瑪，他將不會在夏季聯盟繼續出賽。
被許多人視為自從詹姆士(LeBron James)以來最強新秀的文班亞瑪，很難不成為廣大鎂光燈追逐的焦點，在樹大招風下，日前還遭知名歌手布蘭妮(Britney Spears)指控被文班亞瑪保鏢不當對待，要求文班亞瑪公開道歉。

文班亞瑪目前在夏季聯盟出賽兩場，前一戰繳出令人印象深刻的27分12籃板3阻攻，根據相關外電報導指出，文班亞瑪在前一晚獲邀由富豪魯賓(Michael Rubin)和NBA球員工會共同主辦的夏季聯盟球員派對，但他選擇不出席，理由是「想好好睡覺準備隔天比賽」，不少網友看了都笑稱「這很馬刺」、「果然有大前輩鄧肯(Tim Duncan)的作風」。
