A rare $500 banknote from the 1930s is to be put on sale by a Derbyshire-based auctioneer on Wednesday, June 26.Images from Hanson’s Auctioneers show the $500 banknote, which they say was printed in 1934.The note is part of a “major collection of rare USA notes” uncovered in Wales, Hanson’s Auctioneers said.Hanson’s Auctioneers said that adjusted for inflation, the $500 note would be worth $11,619.17 today.Hanson’s Auctioneers said that notes of such high value were rarely seen in 1934, but that they were sometimes used for large purchases such as of land or property.The auction at Hanson’s Auctioneers in Derbyshire was scheduled for June 26.
