The UK’s Met Office issued a “rare” red weather warning for parts of eastern Scotland as storm Babet brought heavy rain and flooding to the region on Thursday, October 19.According to the Met Office, some parts of Scotland have seen “over a month’s rainfall in the past 36 hours,” with Waterside Perth receiving 171 mm (6.7 inches). A red warning has been issued for Saturday, October 21, as parts of eastern Scotland are expected to receive “exceptionally heavy and persistent rain.”Tracey Craib recorded this footage of waves battering the coast along Anstruther, near the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Anstruther Lifeboat station. The RNLI posted the video with a warning, advising people in Scotland, “not to visit the coast during this time in order to stay safe. It is a possibility that by being too close to water and cliff edges in these conditions could knock you off your feet or wash you into the sea.” Credit: Tracey Craib via Storyful
