A Ukrainian man fleeing the war was rescued along with his kitten named Peach from a ravine in Romania’s Carpathian Mountains this month, the Associated Press reported.Footage released by a mountain rescue service shows the kitten, which was zipped up in rescue gear with its owner, being held up by a rescuer.According to The Associated Press, the team worked through a blizzard to save the man, identified by the outlet as Vladislav Duda, 28.“The cat was warm and was warming him … so he saved his life,” Dan Benga, director of the rescue service, told The Associated Press. “The only thing we saw he is caring about is the cat. He doesn’t care about himself.”The report said Duda was fleeing the draft, adding that since Russia’s invasion began, more than 160 Ukrainian men have been rescued from the Romanian mountains.
