Winter storm warnings were in effect for areas of Wisconsin on Thursday, December 19, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned the region to brace for “widespread accumulating snow” through Friday morning.According to the NWS, a “swath” of wintry weather from central to northeast Wisconsin was expected to bring 3 to 6 inches of snow. Up to 10 inches were in the forecast for areas near Lake Michigan.“Even though snow totals are lower than expected over much of the area, many accidents are occurring due to snow covered and slippery roads,” the weather service warned.Footage shows snow coming down on the NWS’s Green Bay-area office in Ashwaubenon on Thursday morning.“Plan on snow covered and slippery roads.
