A large crowd of Egyptians gathered in front of the Rafah border crossing separating Gaza and Egypt to protest US President Donald Trump’s proposal to relocate Gazans to Egypt and Jordan, The Times of Israel said.Footage filmed by Instagram user @amjad98jad on Friday, January 31, shows a large crowd of people marching, chanting, and waving Egyptian flags at the Rafah border crossing. Some of them are seen holding banners reading “Solidarity stand in support of Gaza” and “Free Palestine.”Both Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah have rejected Trump’s suggestion that Arab countries take in Palestinians from Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.“The deportation or displacement of the Palestinian people is an injustice in which we cannot participate,” el-Sisi told a press conference, according to the Al Jazeera report.The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said that the EU’s civilian border mission had been deployed to the Rafah crossing, which reopened officially on Friday.The Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Friday that “the first group of patients and wounded will leave to travel through the Rafah land crossing” starting on Saturday, February 1.
