The National Guard has released footage from inside the cockpit of a firefighting plane dropping retardant on the Hughes Fire in California on Wednesday, January 22.The National Guard said the C-130J Super Hercules plane was taking part in fire-suppression efforts around Castaic.This type of plane can discharge up to 3,000 gallons of retardant in less than five seconds, covering an area one-quarter of a mile long by 100 feet wide, according to the National Guard.The wildfire had grown to over 10,176 acres and was 14 percent contained, according to the latest update from Cal Fire on Wednesday evening.
