Snow Covers South Carolina Beach Following Rare Snowstorm

Snow blanketed a beach in Litchfield by the Sea, South Carolina, on Wednesday, January 22, after a winter storm brought over 6 inches of snow to parts of the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).Austin Bond captured this video, which shows a snow-covered pier and snowy sand at North Litchfield Beach.According to the NWS, up to 5 inches of snow fell in nearby Myrtle Beach, which makes the snowstorm the most significant since Christmas of 1989.The weather service forecast temperatures to remain “well below normal” with clouds, snow cover, and winds keeping highs below 40 degrees Fahrenheit in most areas on Thursday.
