An Irish politician known for his colourful contributions was met with blank faces when he quoted pop star Chappell Roan in the Irish parliament on Thursday, January 23.Paul Gogarty, who made a triumphant return to parliament following Ireland’s 2024 general election, challenged the incoming government with some lyrics from ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ by Chappell Roan.Making a prediction for what will happen to the country under the new government, Gogarty said: “What comes to mind is Chappell Roan, painting a picture of what it’ll be like in five years: ‘When you think about me, all of those years ago, you’re standing face to face with I told you so’.”Footage from the Irish parliament shows Gogarty’s quip was met with mostly blank faces.Gogarty added that if the government works constructively on key issues like housing and health, they may not be subject to a Chappell Roan-esque scolding in five years’ time.
