All-time record snowfall blanketed the Mobile area of Alabama on Tuesday, January 21, the National Weather Service (NWS) announced.Footage from Noah Scheeler shows the campus of the University of South Alabama draped in a thick winter coat, as snow continued to fall in the region.With a record of 6.2 inches of snow accumulation at Mobile Regional Airport, Tuesday’s snowfall broke the all-time record for the region, 130 years after a previous record of six inches whitened the south Alabaman city in 1895, the NWS said.A winter storm warning remained in effect until Wednesday morning.
