A pinata of US President Donald Trump was beaten and burned near the US Embassy in Mexico City during a pro-Palestine protest on Monday, January 20, footage showed.Edgar Mendez Elizondo filmed the footage at the demonstration just a few yards down the street from the US Embassy.The pinata had “Mexico should be respected” written on it, as well as a number of expletives.The protest was held to “demand respect for the sovereignty of the Palestinian people and an end to the occupation by the Israeli government,” local media reported, and coincided with Trump’s inauguration as President of the United States.In keeping with promises made before he took office, Trump signed a flurry of executive orders on Monday including renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” and multiple orders on border security and immigration that could potentially affect the United States’ relationship with Mexico.
