Destructive Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi churned past southern Madagascar on Thursday, January 16, strengthening as it continued into the Indian Ocean.Timelapse satellite imagery captured over a 25-hour period up to Thursday afternoon shows the storm system moving south of Madagascar and east, away from Mozambique, where it
killed five people and damaged or destroyed at least 6,000 homes.In Madagascar, the storm destroyed more than 200 homes, according to the
UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.The cyclone initially made landfall late last week,
hitting northern Madagascar and the island of Mayotte, and
