Flash flood warnings and wind advisories remained in effect as
Hurricane Hone “gradually” moved away from Hawaii’s Big Island on Sunday, August 25, the National Hurricane Center (
NHC)
said.According to the
NHC, the center of the storm was located about 100 mi southwest of Kailua-Kona as of 11 am local time on Sunday morning, moving west-northwest away from the Big Island.The
