Over a million untaxed cigarettes were found on October 16 hidden among tomatoes in a truck at the Giurgiu-Ruse border crossing between Romania and Bulgaria, authorities said.The discovery revealed more than 50,000 packs of cigarettes, without tax stamps, worth around 1.5 million leu (approximately $327,446).The truck’s Romanian driver was placed under judicial control for 60 days, and faces charges of smuggling and document forgery, police said.
