Two store owners in Argentina were left stunned after a customer, originally mistaken for a thief, left a note and cash on their counter for the products he bought after he found the store unattended when they forgot to lock up for lunch. The owners of Mercado de Origen, Facundo and Sofia,
said they had closed for lunch when they saw someone inside on the security camera feed.“I automatically panicked,” Sofia wrote on Instagram. “My partner called the police, while I called our neighbor, so someone could grab him.”But, as they kept watching the video, the presumed thief did something unexpected. He was seen taking products off the shelf and looking for an attendant at the counter. When no one came, he left the store to get a piece of paper, and came back to leave cash and a note on the counter saying exactly what he was buying. In an
interview with Todo Noticias, the customer, named as Maxi, said he had come in to buy some nuts and thought a staff member might have been in the bathroom.“None of us could believe it, I have no more words to say. THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND MORE THANKS and sorry for judging,” Sofia said on Instagram. Credit: @origen.brc via Storyful
