Hurricane Beryl’s aftermath was felt in Venezuela, where heavy rains and flooding hit the municipality of Montes, in the state of Sucre,
in the early days of July.
Three people died, four were still missing, and more than 100 homes were destroyed by flooding caused by the overflowing of the Manzanares River in Cumanacoa, a town in the Sucre State, local media
reported.Footage filmed by Manuel Tineo on Sunday, July 7 shows the damage in the towns of Cumanacoa and La Fragua.Tineo
said that he was in the area “bringing donations” and that medicine and water were much needed.Nicolas Maduro, the President of Venezuela,
said clean-up operations had already begun in Cumanacoa and that support was available for residents.Some residents were unhappy with the government’s response to the emergency and took to the street to protest on
Friday and
