A large tree toppled onto a vehicle as a strong low-pressure system brought damaging winds, severe thunderstorms, and flash flooding to the Hawaiian Islands on Thursday, January 30, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).A musician whose social handle is @up_north_jake captured this video on Kuhio Avenue in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi issued an emergency proclamation due to the severe weather, which would provide the city with resources for emergency management and disaster relief, Hawaii News Now reported.This video shows an uprooted tree lying atop a vehicle. A person can be seen assessing the damage, which includes a broken rear windshield. Several first responders are also on the scene.The NWS said the low-pressure system would bring severe weather to the islands through Friday, and issued several flash flood warnings for the island chain.
