Before and after satellite imagery showed the destruction caused at a facility on the outskirts of the Russian city of Toropets on Wednesday, September 18.The governor of Russia’s Tver region, Igor Rudenya, said the fires causing the smoke were “the consequences of falling UAV debris” after an drone attack was repelled by Russian air defense forces.“The situation is under control,” Rudenya said in a statement.RBC-Ukraine reported, citing sources in the Ukrainian Security Service, that drones had struck a large warehouse containing missiles and artillery of Russia’s Armed Forces.The warehouse stored missiles for the Iskander tactical missile systems, the Tochka-U tactical missile systems, guided aerial bombs, and artillery ammunition, according to RBC-Ukraine’s source.Neither the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine nor the Russian Ministry of Defence had commented on the strike at the time of writing.Footage verified by Storyful showed an explosion in the direction of the facility on Wednesday.
