Heavy snow fell across Louisiana on Tuesday morning, January 21, prompting the first-ever blizzard warning for the counties and parishes around Lafayette, and major road closures across the state.This footage from live traffic cameras shows snowy conditions on roads in New Orleans.By 9am local time, between 1.5 and 2 inches of snow had been reported in various parts of Louisiana, according to the National Weather Service.“Motorists are advised to stay off the roadways as many are becoming impassable due to the winter weather conditions,” said the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).Multiple snow plows and de-icing vehicles were working on major routes throughout the state, the DOTD said.
