Jeep Towed From Ditch During Southern Louisiana Blizzard

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued its first-ever blizzard warning for southern Louisiana on Tuesday, January 21, as a winter storm was forecast to bring up to 6 inches of snow and possible 35 mph winds to parts of the state.StormRunner Media captured this footage showing a Jeep being towed from a ditch as heavy snow whips across a road in the town of Crowley, just west of Lafayette.According to the NWS, the criteria for a blizzard warning include sustained or frequent wind gusts of 35 mph or greater and falling and/or blowing snow that reduces visibility to less than a quarter mile for three hours or more.The weather service warned of slick and hazardous roads, and urged motorists to use extreme caution should travel become necessary on Tuesday.
