A wildfire quickly grew to 500 acres and prompted evacuation orders after erupting near Castaic in Los Angeles County, California, on Wednesday, January 22, fire officials said.Timelapse footage captured by ALERTCalifornia and UC San Diego’s live fire-monitoring cameras shows the fire exploding in size on Wednesday.The blaze, dubbed the Hughes Fire, broke out at Lake Hughes Road, north of the Castaic Reservoir, according to Angeles National Forest.California Highway Patrol said several local roads were closed due to the fire, and warned that heavy smoke was impacting Interstate 5.
