A mother bear “stood ground” when her cubs darted up a tree after being spooked by neighborhood dogs in Asheville, North Carolina.Video filmed by David Oppenheimer shows a family of bears munching on fallen chestnuts when the frightened cubs run up a tree as a dogs begin barking.“The mom bear alerted her cubs to the dogs’ presence, and they were already running to climb up the tree before the dogs started barking,” Oppenheimer said.“This happened a few times in succession, with the cubs running up the tree, and then climbing back down.
