Calls for American XL Bully dog breed ban after attack

Home Secretary Suella Braverman is seeking “urgent advice” on banning the “lethal” American XL Bully dog breed. It comes after shocking video footage was released of an 11-year-old girl in Birmingham being attacked and injured by the breed. There were ten fatal dog attacks in the UK in 2022, six involving the XL Bully. However, the RSPCA and Dogs Trust charities say the problem of dog attacks does not lie with any particular breed.
